Frank Smith - President
Frank Smith is the President and co-founder of DonorDirect. He brings extensive system design experience, having helped more than 300 ministries with their donor management and technology needs.
Frank first began designing software for ministries shortly after college, working with ministries such as Dallas Theological Seminary and Insight for Living. Those early efforts involved IBM mainframes in the pre-desktop era. That was almost 30 years ago, and since that time Frank has been instrumental in helping hundreds of ministries achieve more through technology. It is because of his years of experience and his singular focus on ministries that Frank has grown into a leading expert on ministries and the processes that drive them.
In 1999, teaming with JD Edwards, he had the opportunity to design a true enterprise wide offering on a technically advanced platform. That was the beginning of DonorDirect and the DirectToDonor product. Under Frank's direction, the DirectToDonor donor management system has grown with the needs of its partner ministries to include ecommerce, email list serve, web services, CRM and a host of other tools.
Today, Frank serves not only as President, but also the chief architect of DirectToDonor and the liason between DonorDirect and the executive staff at Oracle.
When he is not designing software Frank enjoys spending time with his wife Connie and their three sons. He is a Dallas Stars hockey fan, an avid snow skier and also enjoys hiking and astronomy.
David Smith
David Smith co-founded DonorDirect with Frank Smith in 1999. These two unrelated partners trace their association back to the mid 1980's when Frank hired David who had just graduated college. They have been working together since that time designing and implementing software for ministries.
Today David is the Vice President of DonorDirect in charge of technical implementations. He is responsible for installation, database configuration and data conversion. David has extensive data conversion experience with large ministry databases having performed 350+ data conversions for ministries since partnering with Frank.
David is married to Susan and they have two children Katy and Luke. He enjoys maintaining his training in the martial arts where he received his black belt in 2005. He is a University of Texas fan and enjoys hiking and rafting.
Susan Swihart - Client Support Supervisor
Susan Swihart supervises and works along side a great team of knowledgeable, caring and patient support staff. Her joy in helping others work through their software difficulties, added to her 19 plus years of experience in the area of software support for computerized record keeping, makes her very qualified for the task.
Before moving to TX, Susan and her husband worked a number of years in private Christian day schools. They were recruited by Accelerated Christian Education and moved to TX in 1989. Susan was a vital member of the computer support team and assisted private school staff members with their student records software questions and difficulties.
As supervisor of the DonorDirect support team, Susan helps coordinate the efforts of those directly helping clients on the phone and via other communication methods. New and existing clients and their staff look to DonorDirect for assistance and providing excellent service is a priority. Susan considers it a privilege to work with ministries that are doing God's work to reach those in need.
Susan and Randy, her husband of 28 years, have three boys, one girl and one grandson. She loves to bake and enjoys playing the piano.
Terry Einfalt
As Director of Support Services of DonorDirect, Terry has consulted and worked directly with ministry and non-profit organizations over the past ten years in the areas of donor management and financial implementations. In addition to leading the support team, Terry's role consists of providing expert training, and mentoring new clients through the implementation process.
Prior to joining DonorDirect, Terry served with a mission organization for ten years as a field staff accountant. His international ministry and accounting experiences have enriched the overall training experience as real life examples are shared.
Desiring to share and help in God's redemptive plan, Terry enjoys meeting people from various ministry walks and is passionate about helping each student master the features of DirectToDonor for greater productivity. Not only is Terry excited about his DonorDirect role, but he is also passionate about his family (Lori and two sons). His other pastime activities include; fishing, gardening, and cheering for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Go Big Red!
Sharon Joyce
Sharon Joyce is tasked with managing our special programming projects and supervises a team of advanced programming specialists. Her attention to detail and friendly personality make her an ideal point of contact with our partners who have programming needs that DonorDirect helps meet.
Sharon brings 22 years of programming experience to DonorDirect. She began a career in programming while with EDS in Dallas, Texas. For the past 15 years she has been programming exclusively for ministries and is considered an expert when it comes to the processes and structure needed to streamline a ministry's activities. She began programming with DonorDirect in 1999.
Sharon takes joy and satisfaction from knowing that the work she does helps ministries do more for God's kingdom. In her spare time she enjoys running, mountain biking, snow skiing, softball and other sports. She also likes a good movie or play. She is a native of Louisiana and a huge LSU fan.
