Donor management software is one of the most beneficial ways for a charity to accurately account for the donations it receives. Technology has made a significant impact and improvements on a number of different business sectors around the world and nonprofits are no different.
Because of this, many charitable organizations have turned to the Internet as a way to convince donors to give more and it seems to be working.
According to data compiled by Charity Navigator, online giving experienced a 4 percent increase. With nonprofits and other organizations taking advantage of technology by making it easier for donors to give, the result can be found in fundraising being made easier and more money flows into a charity that can be used to the benefit of others.
In a separate report from The Chronicle of Philanthropy, the website revealed that as the U.S. economy continues to get stronger, more money has begun to flow into nonprofits and other charities.
Citing research conducted by the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, which was then compiled into a report called “Giving USA,” the Chronicle revealed that in 2013, nonprofits and other charities received $335 billion from foundational, corporate and private donors.
Some of the areas where giving increased the most were education, public society, health and animals and environment.
Because of such positive upward trends, many charities that are benefactors of these additional monetary gifts would be wise to utilize donation tracking software to accurately monitor contributions received online and in other ways as well. A solution of this kind would not only be beneficial to the organization internally, but it would help with transparency and let donors know how their contributions are being used.
